Keep your horse warm and dry with our hardy turnout rugs, from no fill to heavyweight. Our brands include Rhinegold, Whitaker and Premier Equine, we have something suitable for every horse.
Please be aware that Premier Equine rugs are a generous fit, so if comparing them to another brand we recommend you go down 1 size – and please check the size guides too.

What is the benefit of a turnout rug?
-
Turnout rugs are specifically designed to keep your horse dry and comfortable whilst out in the field. They usually feature a waterproof outer layer with a smooth polyester inner and can be padded with various weights for additional warmth in winter.

-
What weight of Turnout rug do I need for my horse?
-
Lightweight horse rugs are usually between 0g – 100g and are ideal for hardy, unclipped horses or warmer days. Mediumweight turnout rugs are between 150g – 250g and provide good warmth and comfort for your horse. Heavyweight horse rugs are usually 300g+ and deliver optimum warmth for clipped horses and the colder days and months.

Should a horse feel warm under a turnout rug?
-
Never check how warm your horse is by touching their extremities, such as their ears or legs. Instead, place your hand underneath their rug (around their back). They should feel warm, but not hot or sweaty.
