Stubben has a great range of girths, from the well-known cord girth which is great for helping to stabilise a slipping saddle, to neoprene with Coolmax, traditional leather girths and the innovative Equi-Soft girth. The Equi-Soft is the ultimate in comfort for your horse, the centrally sited elastic rings expand and contract with the horse’s movement allowing greater comfort.

In tests, 100% of horses showed a slower heart rate whilst using this girth during exercise. It comes with a choice of neoprene, lambskin or leather pad, fixed by Velcro so interchangeable with the other pads available and very quick and easy to fit.

  • How do I choose the right size girth for my horse?

    • Choosing the right size girth is essential for your horse's comfort and safety. Measure your horse's girth circumference using a flexible measuring tape, then select a girth size that corresponds to the measurement. Ensure that the girth fits snugly but not too tight, allowing room for movement and breathing.

  • Can a poorly fitting girth cause discomfort or injury to my horse?

    • Yes, a poorly fitting girth can cause discomfort, chafing, and even injury to your horse. It's crucial to ensure that the girth fits properly and does not pinch, rub, or constrict the horse's movement. Regularly check the fit and condition of your horse's girth, adjusting as needed to ensure optimal comfort and safety.

  • Can I use the same girth for different saddles?

    • In most cases, you can use the same girth for different saddles as long as the size and type of girth are compatible with each saddle's billet straps or attachment points. However, it's essential to ensure that the girth fits each saddle properly and does not cause any discomfort or slippage. Adjust the girth accordingly when switching between saddles.
