‘Benji’ – a lovely Relko rocking horse made in 1988.

‘Benji’ is a beautiful Relko rocking horse, made in laminated style which shows off his wood to the best effect. He is medium sized, with his original real horsehair mane and tail and glass eyes. We have fitted him with brand new top quality removable black leather tack and he has his makers round badge on his stand which shows he is a genuine Relko, manufactured in Cookham Dean in England.. He also has his number ( 632 ) and date of manufacture ( 1988 ) carved into the top rail of his stand, again showing him to be from the Relko Rocking Horse Company, who sold this model in Harrods and other fine retailers.
The stand has been serviced and new hats fitted to his runners, then a full wax polish applied to keep it looking good. The horse has been lightly refurbished and again a full wax polish applied all over, so both are in good condition.

Relko were originally located in the UK but moved to New Zealand over 20 years ago. They made their first horse in the early 1970s in England when no one was making wooden rocking horses. The layered muscled effect gives the Relko horse it’s distinctive look which has become a trade mark of the design.

Please be aware these are mostly old horses and as such may show some minor age related characteristics. All the horses however are fully rideable and solid. If you are unsure, please arrange to come and view before purchasing. Viewing is welcomed by appointment.
