Seraphina

`Seraphina’ is a beautiful old Lines Brothers Ltd Sportiboy size 5 rocking horse on a safety stand, c1920 – 25.

She is a large size extra carved model horse and has fluted runners to her stand, showing her to be one of the top models of this particular maker, and in this rare biggest size ( 52 inches from floor to the top of her ears ) we have not had one this large here before. Very heavy and strong, with her original cow hair mane and tail and glass eyes, we have tried to keep all her original paint and colourings with just minor fixes, then sealed her with a wax finish. She has a kind face with realistic mouth but lovely delicate carving to her face, a detachable saddle with new saddlecloth as her old one was very torn, plus replacement reins and bridle which were also aged and worn beyond use. She has been fitted with a new jointed snaffle bit in matching nickel to go with her original stirrups, and she has her original `Triangtois` makers badges fitted to her stand at the front and rear showing her to be over 100 years old.

The stand has been serviced, then rubbed down and a full varnish applied to keep it looking good, and she is now ready to come and live with you.
