Gunner and Rex

`Gunner and Rex`  is by Trevor Wiffen, c1970-80.

Gunner and Rex is a wonderful Trevor Wiffen creation which like so many of his horses shows real character and playfulness. The wonderful hand carving of both the galloping horse and the dog running alongside are truly beautiful, and show the two animals are best of friends out for a run together, with the dog working hard to keep up as his tongue is out as he pants.

Deep in colour, the horse is a beautiful rich mahogany colour finish, whilst the dog is more like a medium oak. Both are in great condition as is the red bow stand, so you will have a stunning piece to display which will really get the viewers attention and is sure to capture the imagination of all who see it. 

Trevor Wiffen horses very rarely become available and are much sought after, so be quick if you like these two running friends, as they will soon have galloped away…..

The measurements of Gunner the horse are,

117 cm high from floor to the top of his ears

190 cm long from one end of the bow to the other

40 cm wide

Rex the dog is;

67 cm long from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail

33 cm high from paw to ear

Please be aware these are mostly old horses and as such may show some minor age related characteristics. All the other rocking horses however are fully rideable and solid, however Gunner and Rex are more of a sculpture. If you are unsure, please arrange to come and view before purchasing. Viewing by appointment is very welcome.
